We were small business owners operating inside a Business Improvement District. The work was everywhere - cleaner streets, safer blocks, stronger foot traffic - but it was nearly invisible. Not because BIDs aren't doing incredible things, but because they've never had the right tools to show it.

BIDs sit on a wealth of public and private data - incident reports, foot traffic, merchant feedback, city records - but too often it's trapped in spreadsheets, email threads, and institutional memory. Executive Directors are expected to manage operations, advocate at city hall, report to boards, and prove their impact, all without the platforms that the scale of their work demands.

The mission didn't come from a tech incubator. It came from the sidewalk - from firsthand experience with the communities BIDs serve and a belief that the people running them deserve better.
